Artist, teacher, beekeeper
and singer, Kat Fitzpatrick
has been a Bay St. Louis
resident since 1991. An
artist born and raised, she
credits her mother, Jean
Hammett with sharing her
own passion for art and for
making it look fun.

Kat has shared her love for
art with many children on
the Gulf Coast as a teacher
at Coast Episcopal School
and now through art
classes in her studio at Bay
Artists Co-op in Bay St.
Louis, Mississippi.

Beekeeping, under the
guidance of "bee-mama"
Judy Redshaw (Jordan
River Honey) has been a
new found passion and a
source of future art
materials. Kat's love of the
ancient medium known as
encaustic has infused her
art with a reverence for
bees and an urgency to
restore the natural balance
of her Cedar Point
neighborhood by
reintroducing bee hives.
She is happy to report that
they are thriving and have
played their part in
pollinating satsumas, limes,
lemons and many flowers in
her yard.
"Making beauty out of what has been broken is
our common work and love."~ Kat Fitzpatrick
